Gilbert K. Davis, 1942–2022
Gilbert K. Davis, a longtime resident of Northern Virginia and distinguished lawyer, died last month, following a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. He was 79.
In his role as Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, Mr. Davis’s cases included numerous “firsts,” including the first aircraft hijacking in America; the first case under the Clean Air Act; and the first case under the 1968 Gun Control Act. Decades later, he was involved in yet another “first,” when his client, Paula Corbin Jones, sued a sitting U.S. president over unwanted sexual conduct.
