Palle for Supervisor
Sully District Supervisor candidate Srilekha Palle is condemning her opponent Kathy Smith’s decision to feature “a notorious antisemite” in a campaign endorsement video. Virginia Delegate Ibraheem Samirah’s endorsement can be seen at the 28-second mark of the video, which the Smith campaign released late Monday night.
Samirah’s extremist views and vile social media posts have repeatedly made headlines. He once contended that funding Israel is “worse” than sending money to the Ku Klux Klan. He gloated over the death of Ariel Sharon, urging the former Israeli leader to “burn” in hell. He disturbingly wrote of “Israeli teenagers,” their “young urges,” and “murders in their name.” These hateful statements and many others can be found at SamirahInHisOwnWords.com.
“I’m astounded that my opponent would choose to feature a notorious anti-Semite in her re-election campaign video – and release that video less than 24 hours prior to Yom Kippur,” Palle said today. “There is simply no place for this kind of hatred in our district. I call on Ms. Smith to remove her video immediately and unequivocally renounce Mr. Samirah’s endorsement.”
