The Democrat majority on the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors continues to raise taxes, spend taxpayer dollars irresponsibly, and support “sanctuary polices” for illegals.

The adjacent chart shows the county has raised real estate taxes 38% in the last seven years for the typical Fairfax County homeowner. Since 2000, taxes have increased three times faster than household income and three times faster than the rate of inflation.

Have your county services improved at comparable rates? Of course not! So what is going on here?

An unsustainable pension plan for county government employees is one reason. Other reasons include:

• County government salaries increasing at double the rate of private sector salaries.
• $465 million budgeted in FY2019 to subsidize health and welfare services for low-income families.
• Major funding for relatively unused bike paths in one of the country’s worst traffic-congested areas.
• Now the county is funding a pilot program to fund defenses for illegal aliens.

This out-of-control spending and taxing will eventually drive residents and businesses out of the county to places where they can protect their hard-earned money.
