Come celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the passage by Congress of the 19th amendment! The 19th amendment, which officially passed the Senate on June 4, 1919, guarantees all American women the right to vote. We will recount this milestone that required a lengthy and difficult struggle and celebrate the victory that took decades of agitation and protest. The Lorton Workhouse is a historic site where some women of the suffrage movement were imprisoned.
