Biden Redefines “Savings” on Gas
Joe Biden’s “victory lap” on gas prices keeps getting more bizarre.
Gas prices are above $4 a gallon on average nationwide.
Prices are higher than at any point in history before Biden took office.
By Biden’s own logic, families with two cars are spending over $180 more per month than when he took office.
Families have already lost $1,500 paying increased energy costs.
Gov. Youngkin Proposes “Gas Tax Holiday” for Struggling Virginians
Governor Glenn Youngkin announced that he would send a bill to the General Assembly in the upcoming special session to suspend Virginia’s gas tax for 3 months. The Governor proposes using over $437 million in unanticipated transportation revenues to support the gas tax holiday. Data released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics this week showed a 38.8% surge, year over year, in the gasoline index, and inflation on all items is at a 40-year high.
“These rising gas prices are hurting Virginians, and we need to do something about it,” Governor Youngkin said.
BLACKBURN: Biden Is “Funding Putin’s War”
At a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing on Tuesday, Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) lamented the Biden Administration’s suppression of domestic energy production — even as the Administration continues to allow the importation of oil and gas from Russia.
“It is astounding that we are buying 600,000 barrels of oil and gas a day from Russia,” Blackburn said. “This Administration, because of killing the Keystone Pipeline and locking down the energy sector, they are funding Putin’s war.”
