John Foust Insults Working Women

Joshua Baumgartner

Fairfax, VA – We found the real John Foust. On Wednesday night, at an event in Leesburg, the Democratic candidate for Virginia’s 10th Congressional District attacked Republican Barbara Comstock by saying “I don’t think she’s even had a real job”.

A real job? Last time we checked, serving as an aide to Congressman Frank Wolf, working as a lawyer in the U.S. Justice Department, founding and running two small businesses, and representing the people of Fairfax and Loudoun Counties in Richmond all constitute REAL jobs.

Foust’s remark was insulting, and we stand with Suzanne Scholte in calling on 11th District Congressman Gerry Connolly to condemn Foust:

“Any woman who has been a mother, any woman who has served as a federal worker, and any woman who has been a leader in the private sector has had a ‘real job’. Barbara has done all three, and John Foust–as well as Gerry Connolly and other Virginia Democrat leaders–need to apologize and disavow this incredibly offensive remark.”

Attacks on Republican women like Barbara have become routine in the political arena, but Foust’s statement is an attack on all hard-working women. Every woman in the 10th Congressional District should be wondering how the Democrats could have nominated a man who thinks like that. Talk about a “war on women”!

John Foust is not fit to represent the women of the 10th District. On Nov. 4, vote for
Barbara Comstock, a principled and proven leader who will represent all of her constituents.
