A Question for Delegate Kathleen Murphy: What’s wrong with Israel?

Fairfax,VA – Today, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is scheduled to address a Joint Session of Congress, giving Americans the opportunity to hear from America’s strongest ally in the Middle East, and a bulwark against terror. President Obama and Vice President Biden have refused to meet with the Prime Minister, and Democrats in Congress will boycott the Prime Minister’s speech. Unfortunately, this desertion is not specific to just Washington. On February 5th, twenty Virginia Democrats were the latest to jump on the Democrat anti-Israel bandwagon – among them was Delegate Kathleen Murphy (34th HoD).

Delegate Murphy abandoned the House chamber twice to avoid a vote on a resolution supporting the state of Israel. Less than month into her job, Kathleen Murphy proved that her allegiance is to the Obama administration, not the citizens of her district. Murphy’s behavior stands in stark contrast to that of her predecessor, now-Congresswoman Barbara Comstock, who was proud to represent and work for all of the residents of Virginia’s 34th House District.

Unfortunately, walkouts by Virginia Democrats are nothing new. But what is new is this flagrant disrespect for Israel, and the many Virginia voters who support our ally.

The voters of the 34th may well ask themselves whether they made the right choice when they elected Kathleen Murphy earlier this year. Fortunately, Delegate Murphy is up for reelection on November 3, 2015, and we can replace her with a Delegate who will work for Fairfax County, not the Obama Administration.
